Scrooms instruments guide

Choose an upgrade around your catch routine, using the stats and price shown in game.

What your instrument does

The official gameplay loop begins with equipping an instrument and playing to attract a Scroom. You tune before the catch, then keep the creature in its catch zone. The official description specifically says faster Tune Speed shortens tuning.

That makes instruments part of the catching process. It does not establish a universal best instrument or show that one item guarantees rare creatures.

Read the current stat panel

Published catching coverage names Precision, Harmony, Tension, Luck, Tune Speed and Resonance. Exact values and the effects of every stat were not independently tested for this site.

Your questionA useful comparison
Is tuning taking too long?Compare the displayed Tune Speed. This stat’s effect on tuning duration is described officially.
Is keeping the marker in the zone difficult?First practice the control. Then compare the item descriptions for relevant handling stats; do not assume an untested percentage guarantees success.
Is an upgrade worth the currency?Compare its current price with the improvement you need, and keep enough for any objective you are actively following.
Is a rare-catch claim believable?Look for a current source and a documented effect. We do not publish unsupported drop odds.

The opening instrument progression

The reported tutorial starts with Leo’s Wooden Lute and later asks for an instrument upgrade. Current opening walkthroughs mention the Tamer’s Guitar. Older and newer articles disagree about its cost, so this page intentionally uses no fixed price.

  1. Read the tutorial objective and the shop’s item description.
  2. Check the current price in the purchase interface.
  3. After buying, open the Equipment Bag and select the instrument.
  4. Close the bag before speaking to the quest NPC or starting another catch.

The Chimes guide covers Julian’s sale options.

Catching instruments and the Ocarina

The Ocarina is associated with learned melodies and travel or gate interactions. It has its own quest route and Known Songs menu. Do not treat a guitar upgrade as an Ocarina unlock.

Read the Ocarina guide for Halden’s task, then use exploration requirements to understand why songs matter at marked gates.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the instrument tier list?

We do not have measured performance or a verified current full stat table. Publishing a ranked tier list now would imply comparisons we have not made.

Does this page list every instrument?

No. It explains the documented opening progression and a way to compare the current shop. It is not a complete item database.
