- Finish Leo’s opening tutorial and follow The Next Step.
- Find Halden seated on a log near the Grove campfire. Reporting describes red tents nearby. Interact with the NPC.
- Accept the task and use Pay Respects at five Weathered Statues in Songkeeper’s Grove.
- Return to Halden after all five and accept the Ocarina.

Landmarks to help with the statue task
Launch reporting describes five landmarks: a vine-covered cabin, a lower river path, a large tree overlooking water, a lantern beside a stone path and a low stone ring near an outer-path tree.
Use these as search landmarks, not GPS coordinates or a tested fastest route. When you find a statue, check for the Pay Respects prompt and verify the task counter changes before moving on. Note which landmark you have checked to avoid repeating the same statue.
Play Homeward Melody
Equip the Ocarina, open Known Songs and select Homeward Melody. Read the displayed sequence and play its directions. Published reporting describes the song as returning you to your chosen spawn point.
One source’s note sequence conflicts with another image caption. The current Known Songs display should decide the order, so this guide does not ask you to memorize an uncertain sequence.
If the unlock or song does not work

| You cannot find the Ocarina | Check equipment and the hotbar after accepting the reward. Reporting places it in slot 5, but use the named item if your layout differs. |

| A cave door stays closed | Homeward Melody and Song of Passage serve different tasks. Check the required song in the exploration guide. |

Frequently asked questions
Is Halden a Scroom to catch?
No. The reviewed route describes Halden as an NPC. Speak to him rather than attempting the catch minigame.
Does the Ocarina open every cave door?
The official badge confirms a gate opened with Song of Passage. Owning the Ocarina alone does not prove that you know the required song or can open every door.
